TMJ SPECIALIST HONOLULU: TMJ PAIN RELIEF & SLEEP APNEA INSTITUTE
If you answered yes to any questions in the TMJD symptoms diagram above, come in for a TMJ and sleep-disordered breathing evaluation. It’s estimated that tens of millions of men, women, and children suffer from TMD many of whom have no knowledge of their TMJ condition or how to seek TMJ treatments from a TMJ Doctor or Dentist. Headaches and pain are the most common complaints from those afflicted with TMJD. Around 80% of patients with a TMJ disorder complain of a debilitating headache, and over 40% report some kind of facial pain.
Dr. Kurt Uyehara and his staff are dedicated to providing a warm, caring atmosphere with total patient comfort for dental care and TMJ relief. Patients from all over the world have benefited from a wide range of TMJ/TMD treatments, such as oral appliances that help to decompress and stabilize jaw joints and open the airway. In 1990, Dr. Kurt Uyehara graduated from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City with an emphasis on head, neck, face, and orofacial/TMD/TMJ pain as well as sleep-disordered breathing. He pushes his educational boundaries through continuing education courses each year. As a lecturer, he has shared his skill and knowledge with the Hawaii Dental Association and Vancouver, BC Orthodontic/Sleep/TMD symposium. His philosophy is conservative and preventative with an emphasis on multidisciplinary networking to be in the best interest of TMD/TMJ and sleep-disordered patients.
